Cookbook Club at Hall Memorial Library

Love to cook—or looking for a fun way to try something new? Join the Hall Memorial Library’s Cookbook Club!

 

Each month, participants explore a featured chef, select a recipe to make at home, and gather to share their creations and experiences.

The club meets on the last Thursday of every month in the McKnight Community Room.

 

Registration is required, so be sure to sign up and bring your appetite for great food and conversation!

Easter Festival at Ellington Baptist Church

Celebrate the season with a fun-filled afternoon at Ellington Baptist Church’s FREE Easter Festival on Saturday, March 28!

 

This family-friendly event will feature snacks, games, prizes, and a festive Easter egg hunt for kids of all ages.

 

To make sure everyone gets a chance to join the fun, egg hunts will be held at three different times:

  • Ages 5 and under: 3:20 PM
  • Ages 6–12: 3:55 PM
  • All ages: 4:30 PM

Poetry Reading with David Vazquenza

Join Hall Memorial Library for an inspiring evening of poetry with David Vazquenza on April 2 from 6:30–7:30 PM in the McKnight Community Room.

Last Call: Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt

Get ready for a glowing good time at Ellington Recreation’s 2nd Annual Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt! Head to Robert Tedford Memorial Park on March 30 for this exciting nighttime twist on a spring favorite.

 

The hunt begins promptly at 7:45 PM (arrive early at 7:15 PM), and best of all—it’s free! Be sure to wear your brightest glow-in-the-dark or light-up gear and bring a basket to collect glowing eggs scattered throughout the park.

 

After the hunt, trade in your eggs for candy and enjoy a fun-filled evening full of sparkle and excitement for all ages!

Town Clerk Donna Hosey, A Committment to Excellence

Next up in Ellington's Women’s History Month Spotlight Series, the towns proudly recognizes  Town Clerk, Donna Hosey.

 

Donna began her journey with the Town in 2014 as a part-time Administrative Clerk, later becoming Assistant Town Clerk in 2016. After earning her Connecticut Certified Town Clerk designation in 2017, she stepped into the role of Town Clerk in January 2023.

 

Known for her warm smile and dedication, Donna is inspired by fellow town clerks and their shared commitment to serving their communities. She takes pride in the diverse responsibilities of her office and values the opportunity to assist residents each day.

 

Thank you, Donna, for all you do for Ellington!

Ellington Public Schools 2026-27 Registration Now Open

Ellington Public Schools is now accepting registrations for all students entering Kindergarten through Grade 12 for the 2026–2027 school year. The full-day kindergarten program is available to Ellington residents who will be five years old on or before September 1.

 

Families of children with birthdays after September 1 may request an early admission assessment by submitting a written request to the school principal by March 1. Please note that completing an application does not guarantee enrollment.

 

Registration is completed online and requires uploading documentation, including proof of age, parent/guardian ID, and residency verification.

Ellington Veterans – A Salute in Banners Deadline April 1

If you have a Veteran you would like to honor, there is still time. Ellington Human Services is sponsoring the Veteran Banner Program which is a meaningful way to honor the men and women from our community who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.

 

Each year, these banners are proudly displayed from Memorial Day through Veterans Day serving as a visible tribute to their dedication and sacrifice.

 

Community members can sponsor a banner featuring a veteran’s name, photo, and branch of service, creating a lasting recognition of their commitment.  Application

Senior Center Hosting a Trip To Amish Country

Ellington Seniors can escape to the heart of Amish Country on this 3-day, 2-night getaway to Lancaster, PA. Travel by deluxe motorcoach and stay at the Comfort Suites Lancaster.
