Fire Hydrant Clearing Winners Announced |
The Ellington Volunteer Fire Department recently asked residents to help keep local fire hydrants clear of snow and ice following the winter storm—and the community stepped up!
Residents were invited to submit photos of themselves clearing hydrants for a chance to win a $75 Amazon gift card and a fire truck ride to school.
Congratulations to contest winners Jaclyn Morrissey Raiola and Kristina Corbett! Since they don’t have school-aged children, they generously donated their fire truck ride to the children of Aaron Swartz and Amanda Nowzarinezhad. Great community spirit all around—and a big thank you to our dedicated volunteer firefighters! 🚒❄️ |
