Easter Fun Fact - Why A Bunny?

🌷 Helpful Hint: Make Your Easter Egg Hunt Extra “Egg-citing!” 🐣

Turn your traditional egg hunt into a memorable adventure with a few simple twists! Instead of scattering eggs randomly, try creating a clue-based hunt where each egg leads to the next—perfect for older kids. For little ones, use color-coded eggs so everyone collects their own set without competition.

Want to level it up? Mix in a few “golden eggs” with special prizes like a small toy, a coupon for choosing dinner, or a movie night pass. You can even hide one “dessert egg” that reveals where a surprise treat is waiting!

And don’t forget—after the hunt, use those extra eggs for fun activities like egg rolling races or decorating contests.

A little creativity goes a long way in making Easter Sunday unforgettable for the whole family! 🌼

🧁 LuAnn’s Bakery Expands to Hartford

Ellington’s own LuAnn’s Bakery & Café is continuing its growth with the opening of a new location in downtown Hartford. Owned by Ellington native Josh Virkler, the popular bakery has built a loyal following with its creative menu of pastries, coffee, and breakfast and lunch offerings. The Hartford shop marks the fourth location for the business, which already has a strong presence in Ellington and Stafford.

Known for both classic favorites and unique treats, LuAnn’s has become a go-to spot for locals. The expansion highlights the success of a homegrown business and brings a taste of Ellington to a broader audience in the capital city.

🐰 Rabbit Rescue Expands Amid Rising Need

Ellington-based Everybunny Counts Rabbit Rescue is expanding its facility to meet a growing demand for services. The nonprofit, which specializes in rescuing and rehoming domestic rabbits, is adding significant new space to accommodate more animals and improve care.

The expansion comes as the organization sees an increase in abandoned rabbits—particularly around the Easter season, when many are purchased without understanding the long-term commitment.

With hundreds of rabbits already helped, the rescue continues to play a vital role in the community. The new space will allow for enhanced medical care, housing, and outreach as they work to promote responsible pet ownership. Website Here
